The poetry gets the most brilliant achievements in the history of the Chinese ancientliterature. In the area of literature, the poetry is regarded as the highest expression form,especially the ancient lyric poetry, which creates a magnificent colorful world depending on itscompact language, and affects generation after generation. Comparing with other genres, theancient lyric poetry can more fully shows the author’s character and feelings. The philosophy oflife and society, which are contained in the poetry can also enlighten and inspire the readers. Atthe same time, the ancient lyric poetry plays a very important role on the modern Chineseeducation. It can promotes the spiritual developments of students and improve their literaturequality, relying on the implicit and powerful expression. However, due to the inefficient andpatterned teaching methods of the ancient lyric poetry, its infectivity is reduced greatly.Therefore, an appropriated teaching method for the ancient lyric poetry is needed by students andteachers. In the dissertation, I will explore the new teaching strategy of the ancient lyric poetrythrough observation, literature review, case study and comparison.In the first part of my dissertation, I will analyses the current situation of the ancient lyricpoetry teaching, including text lost, inefficient patterned teaching method, and exam-orientededucation. And then, the importance of the ancient lyric poetry will be discussed from threeaspects, the Chinese curriculum standard, teaching materials selection and the Chineseexamination.Next, the second, third and forth part of my dissertation analyses the teaching methods ofancient lyric poetry texts in detail from three aspects, including poetic feature, poetic boundaryand techniques. In the second part, in terms of the poetic feature, I focus on the analysis of poetrytext and conclude the typical characteristics of the ancient lyric poetry, which are reflected bycontent, connotation and expression. In the third part, considering the poetic boundary, its imageand virtuality will be discussed. In the image part, the features will be displayed, which containsthe emotion expressing, meaning showing and images relations. After, in the part of virtuality,the spiritual and misty expression will be explored to find out the studying key points of theancient lyric poetry. The fourth part pays attentions on the techniques applied in the poetry. Therhetoric techniques, expression methods and word polishing will be discussed with examples. Based on the analysis above, the last part of my dissertation focuses on the teaching strategyof the ancient lyric poetry. In this part, four teaching levels are presented from the shallower tothe deeper. In the first level, the students will be taken into the poetry text, feel the emotions inthe poetic environments and be inspired the interests of study. In the second level, the studentsunderstand the poetry deeply, and they are expected to master the emotional keynotes and thecreation points. In the third level, the emotional experiences of students will be emphasized.Through the view of the poetic boundary, images and emotion, the students can get realisticemotional experiences. In the highest level of poetry teaching, the students’ tastes can becultivated and their Chinese attainments can be improved a lot.
