With the further development of the new curriculum reform, the concept of the newcurriculum in high school geography teaching has gradually been accepted and applied. Howto carry out effective teaching, improve the efficiency of learning, to cultivate the students’geographical learning ability, let the students learn to learn useful knowledge of geographysubject appear. To change our teaching concept topic, not only as the subject of study, andshould be combined with the teaching practice research. In this paper, from the geographicalteaching present situation, unifies oneself for several years teaching practice, summarizes theexisting problems in high school geography teaching, analyses the causes of the problems,and then puts forward the optimization of geography teaching strategies according to the newcurriculum ideas and teaching practice, in order to improve the quality and efficiency of highschool geography teaching reference.
