The so-called "university", is not because of the buildings, but the masters. University faculty is an important human resource. To a great extent, the quality and level of the faculty determine the level and reputation of university. The faculty academic origin structure is an important content of the construction of teaching staff. Faculty academic origin structure is mainly refers to the distribution of colleges or universities that faculty graduated from, the level of education, etc. These factors have deep influence on faculty’s level in creativity and research. Especially in local colleges and universities in China, due to the limitation of region, the restriction of colleges developing foundation, and the concentrated faculty academic origin structure, it not only affects the development of college faculty, but also the overall development of local colleges.This paper takes the faculty academic origin structure of Hunan Agricultural University as a specific research object. By the method of literature, comparison, case study and statistical analysis, this paper researches its faculty academic origin structure and analyses its influence on the development of university, and then the paper proposes targeted countermeasures and suggestions. The paper has five parts. The first part is the introduction part. It introduces the related concepts and the present research in domestic and overseas, and elaborates the research ideas and research methods of this paper. The second part is the theoretical part. First it introduces these concepts:the academic origin and its structure, local university, faculty structure, and the theory of humanistic management and the optimal allocation of education resources in colleges and universities. It also expounds the influence on the development of university. The third part is case study part. In the case of Hunan Agricultural University, this paper presents the condition of the faculty academic origin structure in this university. It also analyzes the influence on the faculty development and the discipline development. The fourth part is the casuse analysis part. It is the influence factors of the faculty academic origin structure in local university. The fifth part is the countermeasure part. We should change the idea of talent introduction, do it better in teaching training, build a reasonable teachers training system, and improve the teachers’employment mechanism.
