As the educational reform goes further, the society calls more for the all-round development of students in Chinese class in junior high school. Full-time Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standard points out that the initiative and creativity of both teacher and student must be made full use of. Meanwhile, efforts should be made to embody the practical and integrate features of a Chinese class. Thus, it is easy to see that the Chinese class reform is consistent with the demand of improving the efficiency of class. To meet the standards in a limited time and space, the only way is to construct an efficient class and improve the quality of classroom teaching. The author holds that the cause of inefficiency of Chinese class lies in the contradictions between the unawareness of students’ subjective position and the highlight of teachers’objective role. In detail, the elements can be listed as follows:the singularity of teaching estimate; the neglect of students’ subjective position; short of teaching language vividness; the contingency in classroom teaching and the interference of social environments. Thus, how to explore the efficiency in Chinese class and how to improve the quality of classroom teaching become the main contents of this thesis. This paper first discusses the current status of Chinese teaching in junior high school, explores its causes and then points out the realistic meanings of improving teaching efficiency. Finally, the thesis draws a conclusion by giving some strategies to construct an efficient Chinese class.This thesis consists of four parts, listed as follows.Part one:the origin of efficient class. Teaching modes at home and abroad are enumerated. Besides, this part also introduces some new accomplishments of building an efficient class in China.Part two:the current status of Chinese teaching in junior high school. At present, Chinese teaching pays much attention on the integrity of the texts. Most of the teachers still adopt traditional teaching methods of "cramming" and "spoon-feeding". This part lists the limitations of such methods, analyzes the causes of this phenomenon and finally draws four conclusions.Part three:the realistic meaning of improving Chinese teaching efficiency in junior high school. This part points out the necessity of improving the efficiency in Chinese class from two perspectives:demand of students’development and demand of Chinese teaching reform.Part four:strategies to construct an efficient Chinese class in junior high school. According to the current standards of efficient class, this part exemplifies how to build an efficient class with detailed preparations and processes. It focuses on the learning plan which is of great importance to carry out the efficient class and contrasts the effects stemmed from using the leaning plans or not.
