Teacher metaphor which refers to the social consensus on teacher’s image as wellas cultural symbols "engineer","gardener","candles","Lighthoues","a window","abucket of water" are Common teacher metaphor. Of it connotes the relationshipbetween teachers and students, teachers(including students) and knowledge andteachers within their own parts. The traditional teacher metaphor containing positiveethical values manifests itself as those: teachers play a role of torchbearer for one’ssoul, of instructor for life, of exponent of universal love, of model in study, et cetera;But with the development of the concept of education, especially since the newcentury, the rapid development of information technology, resulting in knowledge ofthe big bang, role and identity of teachers in influence character by environment inchanging. Negative value implicated in Teachers’ metaphor is also increasingapparently, such as the neglect of equality, blindness to knowledge, the deprivation offreedom, and devastation of life, all those are urgently demanded for our reflections、criticism and reasonable decisions. Teachers metaphor has its negative value inaddition to the ethical basis contains itself in metaphor, and the external objectivereasons. In education, the traditional of teacher’s dignity, the objective knowledge oftraditional culture, traditional customs and traditions of the wrong idea, the traditionalteaching mode of these four reasons are demonstrated to the life of contempt. Thismetaphor of “Being the protector of life” is based on life philosophy to discuss therelationship, ethical connotation and the reason of the metaphor. Interpretation theoryconnotation is based on four dimensions of life, that life is a kind of intentionalexistence, is a historical existence, is a kind of relationship exists, is a creation ofexistence, the practical connotation of "Being the protector of life" in the process ofeducation, and the education process that four dimensions of life extension process.Education is the process of students’ growth in life relations, education is the processof free creation, process of education is a process of personality in the history of theformation, the educational process is the process of intention. Being the protector oflife as a new teacher metaphor which consist of follow ethical values: regards therelationship between teachers and students as an element of life, its (includingstudents) connections with knowledge a sort of creation, its links with his own mind akind of spiritual autonomy. Starting from the connotation of the metaphor and ethical basis, construct the metaphor should focus on the following four aspects: Firstly,social interaction is more important than classroom learning; Secondly, the historicalexperience is more important than knowledge tradition; Thirdly"", soil is moreimportant than the "tree"; Finally, life consciousness is more important than thesystem reform. Of course, the new metaphor construction is not a short duration oftime can do, not only need the teacher’s life consciousness, awakening of lifeconsciousness as the needs of all, itself which returned to the teachers responsibility.
