This article is a special study about education modernization process in zhejiang regional in the late qing dynasty.This article is divided3chapters.Chapter1:Analysis the foundation of carrying out zhejiang education modernization in late qing dynasty. Because zhejiang province is located in the southeast coast of, the transportation convenient, the port open earlier, economy developed, talents prosperity, thought active, and these provides good conditions for the education modernization.Chapter2:Discusses the development process and characteristics of zhejiang education modernization in late qing dynasty. Late qing dynasty, zhejiang began to imitate the church schools, made preparation for the new-style schools, send students to study abroad, and put up the features of paying attention to basic education, normal education, women’s education and the characteristics of public education.Chapter3:Make brief comments on education modernization of Zhejiang province in late Qing Dynasty. Education modernization of Zhejiang in late Qing Dynasty not only constructed education system in modern times, but also laid a solid foundation for the developments of education during the period of the Republic of China, pointing out the direction of the contemporary education moreover. Nevertheless, the guiding education theory of the "Chinese-Style Westernization" inevitably had its age limitations, such as the overhastiness of abolition of the traditional academy and the low degree of recognition by society and the people. These problems are worthy of our attention and reflection.
