Girls’education is an important issue of common concern around the world. The MDGs presented clearly that" Eliminate gender disparity in primary and secondary education, preferably by2015, and in all levels of education by no later than2015." As one of the UN’permanent members, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund specially focus on development and interests of the word’s children, plays an leading role in the field of Girls’ Education. Girls’ Education has always been a serious problem of Nigeria education, the girls’ dropout rate accounts for the half of the Nation’s. According to its own development strategy and combined with the reality of Nigeria, UNICEF conducted a comprehensive aid in Girls’ Education in Nigeria. This paper investigated the main contents and modalities of UNICEF in Girls’Education, analyzed the achievement and challenges of the aid, finally conclude the key features of UNICEF in Education Aid.This paper consists of five parts. The Introduction part outlines the background and explains the significance of the research presents the contents and methods of study and reviews the related literature. Part one describes the development of Nigerian Girls’ Education. The Nigerian Traditional Education advocated gender equity but the colonial government practiced gender discrimination policy. Stimulated by series of Nation’s policies after independence, the Girls’ Education has achieved a rapid development. However the Girls’Education still faced multiple crises because of the weak foundation and affected by the domestic multiple factors. Part two analyses the UNICEF’s education policy. UNICEF focused on children’s nutrition/health and other areas of emergency aid in the early ages, involved in education since1960s and turned their attention from basic education to the EFA. Since1990s, Girls’ Education has become one of their key points and formulated the Strategies for Girls’ Education in2004. Part three systematically discusses the UNICEF’s strategies for education aid in Nigeria (Education Policy/Capacity Building/Community Mobilization/Funding and Infrastructure Construction) and made the detailed analysis on Girls education Project (GEP). Part four evaluates the achievements and challenges of nearly60years work of UNICEF Nigeria. Part five sums up the four main features of UNICEF’s Education Aid in Nigerian Girls’ Education:(1) Attaches great importance to the education ability building;(2)Take appropriate measures to different education problems;(3)Strengthen the partnerships on the basis of Country offices;(4)Valued the participation of benefited Countries.
