During the moral construction in a harmonious society, that of teachers inHigher Education is a key problem in organizing the teachers’ team on the currentstage. Whether the teachers’ moral construction is successful or not,it will affectnot only the reform and development of higher education, but also be relative tothe citizens’ moral construction and economic growth. Now China is in a newdevelopment stage, i.e. with the economic and social development China isgradually becoming a moderately prosperous and harmonic country. Under such asituation, the teachers’ ethic construction level should be raised in order to breedmore excellent socialist builders and qualified successors. However in the presentstage, the environment of international societies becomes increasingly complex,and that of China also increasingly diverse, so teachers’ moral construction incolleges and universities, therefore, faces more severe situation compared withthe one in the past. In the past year, there existed some phenomena against therequirements of socialist morality, civilization and teachers’ professional qualitiesin China universities, which caused very negative impacts on the socialisteducation.Based on the Marxist stand, viewpoint and methods, with a rigorousattitude, firstly, the author analyzes and studies the situation of teacher’s ethicconstruction in China colleges and universities; clarifies the connotation and themain contents of morals construction in the harmonic society; and then expoundsthe connotation, goals, tasks and significance of teacher’s ethic construction incolleges and universities. Secondly, with the development history of teachers’ethic construction after the establishment of the CCP as a guide-line, the authorreviews and summarizes the development of ideological and political educations of university teachers since the founding of new China; studies and analyzes theachievements, problems and causes of the teachers’ ethic construction in Chinauniversities under the new situation; At last, according to the problems, theauthor in the paper discusses the guiding ideas and realistic strategy to strengthenthe teachers’ ethic construction, with an expectation to provide some usefulreference for teachers’ team construction in colleges and universities.
