Outside reading of primary school students has a very important effect on Chineseliteracy’ development.As the gradual deep going of the new curriculum reform,theeffect is more obvious.To improve outside reading level of primary school students(middle), we have carried out a more specific and comprehensive explore on itsbehavior pattern.It is mainly about primary school students’ characteristics and valueson outside reading, research status at home and abroad, reasons and solution of outsidereading of primary school students(middle).This thesis contains four parts.The fisrt part is from the subjective initiative ofprimary school students’ outside reading point of analysis,and find the future andvalue of the students’outside reading.The second part analyzes the research statusabout primary school students(middle)’ outside reading at home and abroad.The thirdpart analyzes the main reasons causing the problems in view of thesociety,schools,families and teachers.I thought,these problems mainly resulted fromsocial background,parents’ education background and difference of schools andteachers teaching conception and methods.The fourth part discusses the solutions to theproblems.Firstly we should change our minds and offer a good reading circumstance tothe students. In particular,the teachers and parents should put emphasis on training thestudents’ reading interest and give them proper instruction.
