In the background of the new curriculum reform, scientific inquiry teaching has been widely concerned in our educational circles. Previous studies accumulated a lot of theoretical basis. In order to further study, it is necessary to study the present situation of the middle school physical science inquiry teaching and find out the problems which are encountered in the practice of inquiry teaching.This paper mainly by watching the teaching video, statistics and analysis the number of scientific research elements involved in inquiry teaching process. It can be seen that which inquiry factors are focused by teachers in the process of the inquiry teaching. In addition, by analyzing the quality of elements used, it can be seen that the effect of the implementation of the physics inquiry teaching in current middle school. The analysis results show that:(1) Most of the teachers think that inquiry teaching is the experiment inquiry, rarely aware of other forms of inquiry. Inquiry form is single.(2) Most of the physics inquiry teachings can carry out the inquiry activity around the specific problem, but in most cases the exploring problems are directly given by the teachers, lacking of students’ positive thinking and active asking questions.(3) The proportion of the use of quantity and quality of the evaluation factors is the lowest. Moreover, almost no use of the elements in the regular class, unless the game form class occasionally involved.(4) Most of the physical teachers try to use the inquiry teaching, but in the daily teaching can not fully implement the scientific inquiry teaching, due to the influence of experimental equipment, the limit of the research hours, the examination requirements and other factors.(5) In most cases, the implementation effect of the scientific factors is not very ideal. It can’t cultivate students’ inquiring ability in accordance with the curriculum standards.In addition, in this paper, aiming at the existing problems, corresponding suggestions are put forward and cited the case as a reference.
