| As is known to all, the language is a tool used for communication in the daily life. Since the new National English Curriculum Standards was put into practice in2011, the main English teaching method has gradually transferred to the approach of task-based language teaching (TBLT) from the traditional ones. In junior middle school ELT in China, TBLT has been widely used from then on. More and more researches on the application of TBLT have been reported, which serves to direct the experimental teaching and learning of the target language. The researchers have continued attempting to make TBLT accord with China’s real language teaching condition in junior middle schools. It is undeniable that TBLT recently in China is applied and developing better and better. The quality of the English teaching applying TBLT has been improved a lot.However, the application of TBLT is still limited to the test-orientated education system in junior middle schools in China. It is severely against the goals of junior English teaching, which aim to arouse the student’s interest in language learning, to gain the self-confidence, form the good habit of learning, to develop their comprehensive abilities to use English, to strengthen their integrated skills in using the language, and to cultivate their creative spirit. In short, the English study in junior middle schools will contribute to pave the way for the students for their future use of the language. It is a pity that the present test-oriented educational system go against the idea of "use to learn" in TBLT.Since TBLT was introduced, there have been many studies on TBLT from the theory to the practice in the foreign language world in China. However, most of the studies focus on the design of the task and pay little attention to the main factor of the students. The students’interest cannot be aroused in this way. Therefore, how the students’interest and motivation to learn English can be aroused has become a hot issue among the English teachers as well as the researchers. After Gardner put forward the theory of multiple intelligences, people have gradually realized that they play an important role in arousing the students’interest in English learning and have tried to apply them to TBLT.In the thesis, the author hypothesizes that the MI theory is the guarantee of the successful TBLT in junior middle schools and make a stress on the study of the mode of TBLT based on the MI theory through the experiment. The author hopes that the study through the experiment can give the English teachers a brand new view on the mode of TBLT based on the MI theory and form an all-rounded system of the evaluation for the students’learning of the language from their different intelligences. |
