With China’s accession to the world trade organization, economic globalization,social life becomes highly informationization in21century, which enable China’seducation faces new challenges and opportunities. English has become the mostextensive usage language of the human life, and also as the most importantinformational carrier. Many countries see the English education as an important partof the citizens’ quality education in the basic education development strategy, and setin a position of prominence. Therefore grasp foreign language proficiently, especiallyEnglish is significantly for economic development and the citizen’s comprehensivequality of our country. China has the new meaning and value of the foreign language,since start to reform and open to the outside world. However, the uneven situation ofEnglish education can not meet the needs of China’s present economic constructionand social development, can not adapt to China’s needs, there has disparity with thedemands of the development of times.In order to examine the implementation progress of TBLT (Task-based languageteaching) in Lanzhou, evaluate the effects and investigate problems connected;identify implementation feasibility and desired conditions from empirical study, andthen questionnaires were designed and sent to two middle schools including the largeparts of eight junior middle school students and a little parts of nine or ten juniormiddle school students, meanwhile interviewed nine English teachers and choose toobserve two English classroom. Finally, the data was analyzed. The conclusions andsuggestions were put forward.Results: Using the traditional teaching method prior to task-based teachingmethod, now. The students’enthusiasm for studying English and the comprehensivelanguage skills were enhanced when the TBLT was carried out in the junior middleschool. However, the students whose foundation courses are worse and the studyenthusiasm significantly different; teachers lack systematic understanding of TBLT;and also the shortage of teaching resource.Suggestions:1. Improve the students’ English level before enter into the middle school, strengthen the communication cooperation of family and school, enhance the parents’attention of learning English;2. Continue to strengthen the teachers cognitive of task-based teaching, confirmthe role positioning, and further improve teachers’ comprehensive quality;3. Strengthen and creating the increasing opportunities of the professionaltraining for teachers;4. In order to make students learn English well in a relax and happy atmosphere,master the basic knowledge well and cultivate the ability of using language, weshould use the materials and design the English teaching in the classroom Flexible,pay attention to the cultural background knowledge and grasp teaching schedule. |
