The Study Of Population Capacity Upon The Background Of Sustainable Development In Sichuan Province

The sustainable development mode which focus on the long-termdevelopment, the human population as one of the active factors have an importantimpact on this mode.With the rapid urbanization, the dramatic increase in populationcaused some phenomenon, such as overcrowding, excessive consumption of resources,environmental degradation and so on.Everyone in the world puts a high value onsustainable development. The interaction and relationship among population, economyand resource environment has became a major issue to regional development.Sichuan province as an economic hinterland lies in the southwest of China, whichhas a large population and rich resources.How to coordinate the relationship betweenpopulation, resources and environment, allocate resources reasonably, support thedevelopment of fourth growth pole in China(Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone), hasa realistic significance.This paper from the viewpoint of the integrity of the system, based on thesustainable development as the theoretical foundation. Make the population, resourcesand environment as a whole, which interact with each other.Through analysing theconcept and connotation of population carrying capacity and optimum population uponthe background of sustainable development and try to analyse regional populationcarrying capacity and optimum population,the relationship between sustainabledevelopment and population carrying capacity is discussed.From the perspective of comprehensive bearing capacity, Combined with the realconditions of Sichuan province, respectively established three subsystems,namelypopulation and cultivated land subsystem, population and economy subsystem, andpopulation and environment subsystem.From the qualitative and quantitativemethods,using a variety of mathematical model to explore the relationship between different resource constraints, finally the2030comprehensive population bearingcapacity of Sichuan province are obtained. Through the population P-E-R model tocalculate the moderate population of Sichuan province. At the same time,Analysis ofinternal and external relations of the system which countains of population, resourcesand environment and sustainable development, explores the causes, and finally putforward the corresponding proposal.
