Language as an independent psychological intelligence that has been confirmed by scientific research.Language is the starting of all human mental activity. Young children in the early years of life using of language is often reflected in the day-to-day narrative,And the story contains a causal relationship, and description of the whole behavior sequence of events and actions.Therefore, it is possible to analyze the children’s story narrative corpus to examine its ability to narrate.This study is based on the constructive view of story psychological structure of Bartlett,examing3-5year-old children’s decontextualized language skill,this capability does not depend on the current situation, is closely related to reading and writing ability (Snow,1991).Framework of the study with reference to the mode of analysis of Stein and Glenn that Each story has a set of rules, these rules are story structure. Story structure itself is organizing information corresponding to listen to or read the story.Therefore, by analyzing the structure of the story, you can learn about the incident of the young children in the process of organizing story sequence and causation.This study selected3-5year-old of90children from a common kindergarten in Xi’an District Chang’an, the story 《Ant and Watermelon》 as the test material. According to mode of the story grammer of Stein and Glenn (1979), this study from four dimensions examine children whether in the narrative clear the target and clearly narrative problem-solving process and results containing story structure elements, story structure types, narrative evaluation, the narrative sequence. Questionnaires combined to do the correlation analysis with the effects of age, gender, mother education, home collection of books, storytelling frequency.Useing the clan of childes for coding and statistical frequency, and using SPSS17.0to analyse the dataTo further examine the critical factors affecting ability of young children’story telling,researchers on the basis of the results of the quantitative statistics, selected a case that with the higher score.In addition, considering children in kindergarten accept the same influence from the teacher, Family factors contributing to more narrative differences, therefore author focuse on the analysis of his mother that may help this child get higher telling ability.the research focuses on analysis of mother’s impact of factors that lead to this child superb narrative ability.This study found that:The3-5year-old children’s level of using the structural elementstory improve overall with age;The total score of he story structure elements and the "setting" rising year by year;the children’s realization about the"initial event" development rapidly during the three to four-year-old;the children’s realization about the"initial act" development rapidly during the four to five-year-old;The period of development of "the initial reaction "and" response "during the three to five-year-old,another,when children was five can realize if the roles in the story reach the goal and refect the event.The story type also showed a significant age difference and tend to target the causal series story structure;the descriptive sequence type with age growth was reduce;the percentage of reduced-plot and the complex plot story structure type increased with age growth; narrative evaluation capacity about the adjectives, adverbs, emphsis, repetitive improved with age; narrative temporality capacity about temporal connectives,sequential connectives,aspectual expressions improved with age;.Looking at the result of this study in four dimensions that children’s story telling ability to increase with age,specific to the different dimensions, there are differences.Among the factors affecting the telling ability, the amount of home collection significantly affected children’s narrative performance; gender and maternal education and the frequency of mother and child ’talk were not the early childhood narrative performance affecting factors; case study found that:Mother’s detailed story interaction style is an important factor to enhance the the child narrative ability and mental narrative performance.The results of this study will be able to understand the realization of story structure and story type of3-5year-old children,and excepted to give mothers and teachers and the future research some advices.
