The new curriculum reform is developing in the country, and it promotes the development of education. The new curriculum standards makes a number of new objectives and requirements of school biology teaching. In order to achieve this target of the new curriculum standards and develop the personality of the students, teachers must try to improve the efficiency of teaching.Researching and analysising the characteristics of students is an important prerequisite to understand the starting of the development of students and to promote the healthy development of students,and it is a very important meaning to improve biology teaching efficiency. In this paper, some methods of student analysis has been provided as well as the significance of the student analysis for biology teaching efficiency has been validated in the both sides of theoretical and practical. Through this research may help teachers determine the meaning of the student analysis on biology teaching efficiency.The role of the student analysis for biology teaching efficiency in theoretical is discussed in the first part of the paper. Making student analysis before the class can help teachers improve biology teaching efficiency by predicting students’ performance in the class, precising learning tasks, choosing the teaching methods and choosing the teaching fulcrum;In the class teachers can adjust the emphasis and the difficult, mobilize the enthusiasm of students and determine the strengthen points by student analysis; Making student analysis after the class also can help teachers teaching reflection.The second part of this paper focuses on how to make student analysis. Firstly,the way to make student analysis before the class is researched. The student analysis before the class include analyzing the common characteristics of students and the personality characteristics of students.Secondly, how to make student analysis in the class is researched. Concerning about the learning state in the beginning of the class and the situation of receiving new information as well as the status of interact among the students is the key to make student analysis in the class. Lastly, researching the acceptance of knowledge and the experience of learning is a way to make student analysis.In the last part of this paper, the meaning of student analysis on biology teaching efficiency in practical is discussed. The experimental results demonstrates that the student analysis helpful for biology teaching efficiency.
