Since the1920s, foreign works for the first time entering high school Chinese textbooks has beennearly a century. Facing the vast foreign works library, how to choose and how to layout has become atextbook writers focus on the core of the problem. Therefore, the majority of keen to study Chinesetextbooks experts and teachers to carry on the research of the foreign works in Chinese textbooks from allaspects, and try to find out the best way of foreign works selected to maximize its educational value.This paper is based on the previous research, from the selection of foreign works in People’s EducationPress standard version of high school Chinese textbooks as the research object, research on the selection offoreign works that uses the method of literature study and questionnaire survey method.The introduction, from the issues, to determine the research object, research methods and researchsignificance make fully prepared for the research. Through the statistical analysis of the results of previousstudies, providing theoretical guidance for the study. In addition, in order to ensure the rigorous research,this part also made a clear definition of the core concepts in the study.First chapter, respectively from the selection guidelines, selected text type, time and regionaldistribution, subject matter, value orientation and education function of the six aspects of foreign works inPeople’s Education Press standard version of high school Chinese textbooks are analyzed.The second chapter, from the selection arrangement order, curriculum and practice arrangement on thethree aspects of the scheduling system of foreign works in People’s Education Press standard version ofhigh school Chinese textbooks are analyzed.The third chapter, through the survey questionnaire, analyze teachers and students’ satisfaction of thecompilation of foreign works.The fourth chapter, on the basis of studying the former three chapters, through the reflection on thecompilation of foreign works, make recommendations for the textbook writers to perfect the foreign worksand first-line teachers effectively use of the textbook to carry out the job of teaching of foreign works.
