"Student oriented" is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of the ScientificOutlook on Development,"participation" is "an important guarantee for college teachingwork to achieve full, all-round, the whole process", is the embodiment of the subject status ofstudents in the school. College students’ participation in the management of teaching, ishelpful to improve the students’ initiative and enthusiasm for learning, enhance their subjectand democratic consciousness, is the general trend of modern education management. Basedon the research at home and abroad, by means of comprehensive research orientation,investigation research as the main approach, interview, questionnaire survey and literaturestudy as the detailed methods, this paper aims to clarify systematically the drawbacks inteaching management methods in the new talent cultivation mode of Agricultural Universityof Hebei, and propose optimization strategies. The paper focuses on the "people-oriented"concept, tries to expand the theory and method of teaching management in China throughstudents’ participation, which is of great theoretical and practical significance to promote theteaching management in colleges and universities.This paper employs literature study, questionnaire survey and statistical methods toconduct the research on the Agricultural University of Hebei students’ participation inteaching management. The main ways that Agricultural University of Hebei studentsparticipate in teaching management include student’ course elective system, students’evaluation on teachers and student’ information system. Based on the statistics, this paperfinds the existing problems about the participation as follows: low cognitive degree, unclearobjectives, low participation level, one-dimensional participation means and imperfectparticipation mechanism. Therefore, we need to raise awareness, clear the purpose ofparticipation, change management concepts, enrich participation levels and improve theparticipation mechanism so as to improve students’ participation in teaching management.
