With the combination of the effects of aerobic with that of anaerobic, badminton is a kindof generalized sports, which can not only invigorate health, but also prevent illness andpromote treatment. The goal of this thesis is to study the effects of badminton on healthconditions of middle-aged men through the various indexes of HRV, and discuss howbadminton have positive effects on fitness, disease prevention and treatment, which can buildthe foundation for the research on fitness value of badminton. The objects of this experiment are thirty middle-aged men, who are divided into threegroups, the sedentary, the brisk walking, and the badminton. There will be an analysis of theindexes of the subjects’ HRV without, with half year, and with one year. The result shows that the indexes of the one-year trained badminton group is significantlydifferent from before, specific shown in SDNN(P<0.01), PNN50, VLF, HF(P<0.05); differentfrom those of half-year trained, shown in SDNN(P<0.01), VLF(P<0.05); different from thebrisk walking group, shown in PMSSD、PNN50(P<0.05); and different from the sedentarygroup, shown in PNN50(P<0.01), SDNN、RMSSD、HF(P<0.05).The analysis of the experimental results shows that the indexes of HRV of themiddle-aged men, who have long-term badminton exercise, get improved, especially forSDNN and HF, which means that badminton plays an important role in improving theautonomous nervous system regulating function. With long period of time training, we can conclude from the overall fitness effects thatactive group is better to improve HRV of middle-aged men than sedentary group, furthermorebadminton group is better than other two groups.
