Facing with the grim situation of global climate change, as the center of humaneconomic, political and social life, the development of the city will inevitably become thefocus of the national low-carbon development. As an important part of the city, thecommunity is an important space carrier of enforcing urban low-carbon economy, andimportant actions unit to address climate change. However, there are so many interactingfactors of low-carbon community building. It has important theoretical and practicalsignificance to promote the construction of low-carbon communities by studying theconstruction and development of urban communities from low-carbon perspective, andexploring an evaluation method of analysis of the influencing factors of the constructionof low-carbon communities. The paper firstly summarizes the concept of low-carbon community, analyzes thestudy status of theory and practice of the low-carbon community development in homeand abroad, and determines the main factors of the construction of low-carboncommunities, and sets up the framework of the factors, and points out the applicability ofinterpretive structural model(ISM).Then, using interpretative structural modeling method(ISM), the paper analyzes theassociation between factors, and sets up a hierarchy of community low-carbonconstruction system, and explores the direct factors and underlying factors of thecommunity of low-carbon construction. The conclusions is that the direct factors arelow-carbon buildings, green transportation, landscaping, and other energy-savingmeasures, and the underlying factor is government-led policy guidelines. Finally, the paper analyzes the mechanism of action of the underlying factors on thecommunity low-carbon construction using error correction model(ECM). and it builds a quantitative relationship model between the low-carbon behavior of community residentsand carbon emissions, and through case studies, it compares the contribution of differentprograms on carbon emissions.
