With the process of urbanization, the size of the minority population flows that it is increasing, this flowing is mainly economic, they leave their traditional neighborhoods, they move towards the area that economy is relatively developed, it bring about a certain impact, not only the layout of the population and economic development, but also having an important impact on the ethnic structure of the original city and ethnic relations, this phenomenon prompt urban ethnic relations is further complicated. Because the customs, lifestyle, religious belief of minority population is different to urban residents, it is easy to produce contradictions and conflicts, ethnic unity education faces challenges. Since the reform and opening up, as an important transportation hub of the northwest, Lanzhou City becomes an important distribution center of the people, logistics and information, but also because of its geographical location, the more developed the economy and culture, Lanzhou city becomes an important inflow of surrounding Minority Floating Population and "crossroads" of national exchanges and integration. Overall, the relationship between the various ethnic groups is harmony and equality in Lanzhou City, but still there is the partial uncoordinated and discord because of the conflict of cultural values, economic interests, religion and other factors, small range ethnic disputes and ethnic conflicts still exist.The thesis studied contradictions and conflicts of national culture of urbanization from the background of ethnic minority population in Lanzhou City, emphasized strengthening ethnic unity education is effective means to relieve the national culture conflict of Lanzhou City, analyzed Lanzhou City ethnic unity education is faced with the challenge, such as the impact of wrong nationalist thought, the penetration of "three evil reactionary forces", the overture of Western anti-China forces "differentiation" and "westernized" and so on, defined the main content of the Lanzhou City ethnic unity education, explored the value-oriented of various ethnic cultural pluralism coexist, analyzed the patterns of behavior of mutual respect and mutual exchange of the various ethnic groups, elaborated the main method of strengthening ethnic unity education in Lanzhou City, proposed a new method on the formation of equality, unity, mutual assistance, new harmonious ethnic relations of Lanzhou City in the new era.
