In recent years, New Zealand’s economic,science,technology and education hasdevelopet rapidly,making New Zealand’s comprehensive strength improved rapidly.And the Maori in New Zealand made the important effect to the development of thesociety that cannot be ignored. But due to reasons such as historyin the superioreducation system in New Zealand, the focus on Maori is not enough. To do this, theNew Zealand government has issued a series of policies to improve the quality ofeducation of Maori and to build perfect education system. In21st century, thegovernment of New Zealand and the ministry of education asked for the opinions ofpeople in the society, education experts and the Maori community on the basis ofprevious policy, formulating the relevant education policies specifically for the Maori.In this paper the author made analysis of the background of New Zealand Maorieducation policy in the21st century and the government of New Zealand’sinterpretation and analysis for the Maori education policy, interpretation the target andmeasures of the implementation of the New Zealand Maori education policy,investigated the cause of the Maori education achievements of Maori educationpolicy and put forward for reference and revelations of the development of China’sethnic minorities, in order to offer certain help to promote the development ofminority education in our country.This paper can be divided into six parts.First part: Introduce the reason of this subject, the purpose of the study andsignificance, literature review, the research methods, research idea and the thesisframework and the difficulties and lack of the research.Second part: Introduce the background of New Zealand Maori education policyin the21st century, including the problem of New Zealand Maori population and thedevelopment of education of New Zealand Maori population after the second worldwar, and in recent years.Third part: Investigate the content of New Zealand Maori education policy inthe21st century, including Māori Tertiary Education Framework2003and KaHikitia–Managing for Success: The Māori Education Strategy2008–2012.Fourth part: Evaluation of the New Zealand Maori education policy in the21st century, from the perspective of the effect of the policy implementation, someproblems of the policy implementation and the challenge for the Maori people of NewZealand education.Fifth part: Analysis the content of New Zealand Maori education policy in the21st century, from the perspective of integrity, scientific and innovative.Sixth part: Analysis of factors in the success of New Zealand Maorieducation policy in21st century, puts forward some Suggestions and enlightenment ofthe development of ethnic minority education policies in China.
