Objective:Under the training mode of maximization to meet the needs of higher, faster and stronger formodern competitive sports, athletes’ bodies are undertaking more exercise-induced fatigue. Withthe development of sports science, there are increasing research achievements onexercise-induced fatigue, all of which, however, contain somewhat limitations of the essentialissues of dealing with the fatigue fundamentally. The research on exercise-induced fatiguerecovery is the hot and difficult issue at the present stage. It is reported that the traditionalChinese medicine has special effect on this fatigue according to references. A complexprescription glue mucilage known as Fufang E Jiao Jiang (FEJ) is a pure Chinese materialmedica preparation for nourishing one’s vitality and blood, which does not contain any forbiddeningredient appearing on Anti-Doping Code and is allowed to be used by athletes. Therefore, the effectiveness of FEJ prescription of nourishing vitality and blood on theexercise-induced fatigue of taekwondo athletes was taken as the research objective. Thetaekwondo athletes have been taking the tonic for8weeks. The contrastive analysis of relatedphysiological indexes before and after taking tonic was aimed at studying the function of FEJtoward the exercise-induced fatigue as well as athletic ability, and provided experimentalevidence for later researches on fighting the exercise-induced fatigue.Methods:40male taekwondo athletes from the Affiliated School of Competitive Sports of Shenyang SportUniversity were taken as the objects of study. The methods of literature, experimentalmeasurement, questionnaire, mathematical statistics and experts’ interviews were put to use.Through double-blind randomized sampling, the objects were divided into two groups, theexperimental and the control with both20persons for each one. The ones of control group dietedand trained in a normal way, while on the basis of normal diet and training, the ones ofexperimental group took FEJ orally thirty minutes before meals twice a day. The physicalfunction indexes before and after the experimental duration of8weeks were tested as follow:①General information collected: height, weight, blood pressure, sphygmus, conditions ofexercise training, etc. ②Tested blood biochemical indexes: RBC, haemoglobin, hematokrit, serum creatine kinase, blood urea nitrogen, testosterone, cortisol, etc.③Urine10Index testing: bilirubin, urine protein, urine occult blood, urine acetone bodies, etc.④Athletic ability indexes: maximum oxygen uptake, maximum anaerobic power, back strength, the power of gripping, the strength of full squatting, the power of bench press, and thesubjective physical sensation scale was included to help assess athletes’ function state.⑤Observing the possible untoward effects of athletes who had taken the FEJ.Results:1.After taking the tonic for8weeks, the diastolic pressure and sphygmus of athletes from theexperimental group were apparently lower than that of the control group (P<0.05).2.After taking the tonic for8weeks, the haemoglobin and the number of RBC of theexperimental were apparently larger than that of the control (P<0.05), and there was nosignificant difference for hematokrit (P>0.05).3.After taking the tonic for8weeks, the volume of cortisol and creatine kinase of theexperimental was apparently lower than that of the control (P<0.05).4.After taking the tonic for8weeks, the values of maximum anaerobic power and maximumoxygen uptake were apparently improved (P<0.05), while there was less significant differencefor the function of central nervous system.Conclusions:1.FEJ can facilitate the generation of RBC and haemoglobin, and has effect on improving theability of oxygen delivery.2.FEJ has a certain effect on aerobic and anaerobic power capacity of taekwondo athletes.3.FEJ has an inhibiting effect on the catabolism of taekwondo athletes’ bodies, and plays apositive role in body recovery.4.FEJ is effective and safe to fight the exercise-induced fatigue for taekwondo athletes. Therewere less untoward effects for taekwondo athletes to take FEJ. The physical strength was all finebased on subjective sensation.
