In recent years, there are more and more cities have put school social work into practicein mainland China. School social work has a great development which is taking Shenzhenand Guangzhou as the representatives and their goal is“one school,one social work.”However, the school social work as a foreign thing, rooted in western social environment, tosuccessfully embedded into the mature student service system which is taking ideologicaleducation as the core, there are many difficulties. School social workers also encountered alot of confusion in practical work. First on concept, schools system is lack of necessity ofidentity on school social work; Second there are also many confusions between school socialwork and psychological counseling in the service content; Third, they don’t know what’s thereally role in their work. In addition, multiple leadership, multiple reports and so on. All theseare the bottleneck of the development in school social work. This paper attempts to describethe school social worker from the perspective of the embedding theory the school. Take acase study on Zhongshan city for example, in order to explore the Virtuous path of the schoolsocial work under the operation mode of the traditional school system.The author introduces the history and current status both at home and abroad in order toelaborate the service content and function of school social work. What’s more, this paper willsummarize the systems of school social work in China. At the same time, the authorcombined the experience of a primary school in Zhongshan city of Guangdong Province, andmade in-depth interviews in colleagues, to describe the school social work the practicedeveloping status and the dilemma in mainland China. After analysising the embeddingtheory, this paper will combine school social work with the embedding theory, putting schoolsocial work into the schools in Chinese mainland to balance the administrative managementof the schools. Put ting forward the effective measures to improve the practical difficulties ofschool social work, in order to help the development of a helping hand for the school socialwork.
