Chinese folk sports culture as an important part of Chinese traditional culture,has a long history, rich in content, there is dragon and lion dance, swing, play gyro,dragon boat racing, flying kites, rope skipping, kicking shuttlecock and so on, with itsinfinite charm, unique fitness entertainment, agile diversity to inheriting the spirit of theChinese nation and culture, motivate the scions of brave forward, folk culture has a longhistory. With all kinds of folk sports activities of the general public were extensivelydeveloped, and the development of folk sports road will be more broad, sports careerdevelopment in China plays a more important position, has great potential for miningand development value, especially to the xiangxi the majority area of minority nationalsports development effect more apparent.This article uses the literature material method, questionnaire survey, field testmethod, expert interview and mathematical statistics methods such as investigate hunanfolk sports activities. By looking at xiangxi folk sports related books and periodicals,knowing the cause of the xiangxi folk sports activities, characteristics, functions, suchas inductive circulates and have lost of xiangxi folk sports content of the project,analysis of xiangxi folk sports activities. And four counties in xiangxi area by using themethod of questionnaire survey in a city (GuZhang county, FengHuang county, LuXicounty, HuaYuan county, and JiShou city) villagers to participate in the activities offolk sports population characteristics, participation motivation and activity way,cognitive situation, time and frequency, organization forms, sources of funds, locationlocation, equipment, etc, to investigate and found that there exist some problems in thexiangxi folk sports activities: Mass participation is not enough, young people interestedin low; Cognitive generally shallow, inheritance is grim; Down content to simplify, folkflavor; Supporting the rule of law is weak, the government support is not enough;Activity funds inadequacy, lack facilities; Modern culture shock, folk environmentaldestruction and so on. Situation existing in the actual, this paper put forward somepractical strong powerful countermeasures: strengthening the folk sports, folk sportsactivities; Health first thought, promote folk custom sports curriculum; Dig the folksports resources and protect the folk artisan heritage; Improve villagers’ participation inthe competition of folk sports; Play to the government leading role, strengthen therelated legal system construction; Develop the folk sports resources, make folk sportsbrand. The corresponding construction measures are proposed to improve the level ofpeople’s perception of xiangxi folk sports activity, awakens the xiangxi, cultural identityand consciousness of the villagers, let the xiangxi folk sports activities by social enoughunderstanding, combined with the government, the village committee and other relevantadministrative departments of support and help, multimode glorious to xiangxi folksports activities, play its rightful, increasing social and cultural value.
