With the popularization of compulsory education in rural areas, boarding schools are increasingdramatically as well as rural boarding school students. The dietary problems of these students whichconcern their physical and mental development become the first priority of school work and one of thefundamental elements ensure the physical and psychological health and normal development of them.Taking S school as an example, this research investigates present rural boarding schools’ canteenmanagement with such methods as questionnaire and in depth interview to reveal its achievement andsetbacks and propose advices for improvement accordingly.First of all, investigate the canteen management of S school and it is found that there are threeshortcomings: poor facilities, a lack of professionals, low qualities of diet, potential safety hazard of diet.Secondly,explore the influential elements of rural boarding schools’ canteen management from theabove case,including severe shortage of fund, a lack of effective leadership、improper managementmethods and potential safety hazard of diet,where a thinking is carried out.Lastly, propose advices for improvement according to the characters of rural boarding schools whichincludes funding support,school leadership training,canteen professional personnel equipment,schoolmanagement improvement and safety management strengthening.Through the research and analysis of the current canteen management of S school,this research seeksto explore the problems and relevant reasons of rural boarding schools’ canteen management and proposecorresponding solutions for reference.
