Research On Current Status Of Volunteer Service And The Intervention Of Social Work In Wenzhou

Volunteer service means to donate one’s personal time and energies to work towards projects or causes that promote human development which is not for material reward. Volunteer service in Wenzhou is well developed in recent20years. With service-network and mechanism continuously improved there are more volunteers and new services appearing. Volunteer service plays an important role in both social behavior and social welfare programs, and become more and more important in different areas such as social security system, to maintain social security and stability, socialize the common people, service the economic construction and build a harmonious society. A growing number of government organizations, social organizations and ordinary citizens, are actively into the cause of voluntary service in Wenzhou.However, problems came out with the development which restricted the growing of volunteer service in Wenzhou seriously. To promote volunteer services and social harmony in Wenzhou, it is necessary to analyze these problems. This paper based on the present situation of volunteer services in Wenzhou, described the developing condition, service-network, management and operation mechanism, and activities of volunteer service from four policy systems. According to the related survey, analyzed the problems of Wenzhou volunteer service, including:the chaotic of volunteer service system, the policies and regulations, the construction of organization, lacking of training and management, incentive and guarantee mechanism should be perfected, and the difficulty of financing, and so on.Coupled with difficulties mentioned above, the introduction of social work intervention is essential to promote the development of the society, which gives helpful suggestions to volunteer service in Wenzhou with theory of social work as follows: improving the system of social work, fostering the Non-governmental and non-profit organizations and social work services, forming information network, and the social mobilization. According to the findings of social work and volunteer service linkage hope that through these policies can contribute to the construction of the linkage mechanism of social work and voluntary services, thus further contributing to social work and the development of voluntary service.
