Geography teaching mode is a comprehensive research in geography education field. It has received extensive attention of the geography teachers. In the long-term teaching and researching process, many teachers begin to transform from the traditional teacher-centered teaching mode to a new teaching mode---the student-centered teaching model step by step. It emphasizes the independent study, cooperative learning. The middle school geography teaching mode displays diverse characteristics, all kinds of new education theory is applied to the middle school geography teaching. In this context, this article from "IDEAL" five steps of problem-solving strategies in learning theory. It’s combined with high school students’physical and psychological development features and teachers’teaching actual situations. The "IDEAL" five steps of problem-solving strategies theory has combined high school geography teaching methods, put forward a new teaching mode:"geographic subject teaching model". Providing a more flexible teaching mode and improving the classroom teaching effect for the majority of front-line educators.This thesis mainly adopts the literature synthesis method, case analysis, expert consultation method, experimental method, field survey research methods, and other validation methods.This paper firstly discusses the Brance and Stein’s the five steps of problem-solving strategies of "IDEAL" theory. Then it investigates the middle school’s geography teaching activities. On the basis of investigations and studies to the existing teaching mode, this method Combined with the geographical nature of the subject and teaching characteristics of introduction of new teaching theory into the high school geography teaching activities. Finally, this paper puts forward a new teaching mode, namely:the "issues" high school geography teaching mode. This mode is on the basis of summarizing the existing teaching mode development trend both at home and abroad, combined with China’s national conditions and the characteristics of the high school students’physical and mental development, and is verified through practice. Through this research, the author found that the new teaching mode can obviously improve students’learning interest and classroom teaching efficiency.
