In high school geography teaching, high school students like argument and intellectuality geographic content and tend to be more stable interest in geography, its interest lies in the understanding of geography curriculum value. Therefore, the problem that how to inspire students to explore the geographic interest and improve the students’ thinking ability of geographic problems in geography teaching is very important.Firstly, through the problem-solving teaching method related research background and research status of the analysis, it is found that, on the one hand, problem-solving method in geography teaching practice research is less than other subjects in quantity, rather plain than them; on the other hand, problem solving teaching method in high school geography classroom teaching problem does exist. In this paper, it explains the necessity and feasibility of problem-solving teaching method in high school geography teaching, defines the problem solving teaching related concept and expounds its theoretical basis by the reading of the relevant literature. Base on the theory of psychology of problem ,it is defined that the problem-solving teaching method is refers to the steps of the system, guiding students to think, to discover and solve problems, in order to inspire students thinking and train the students to solve the conclusion of the ability of a teaching method. Secondly, by the classroom teaching video observation and case analysis, it is found that there exists problems setting up simple, problems setting the lack of convergence, lack of internal relations, target problem beyond the cognitive level of students, lack of integration and review, the conclusion of problem solving single and other issues in geography classroom teaching. Finally, in order to solve these problems existing in the geography classroom teaching, the paper clarifies the problem-solving teaching method in the scope of application of the high school geography teaching, then, it puts forward the corresponding suggestions which are based on theoretical analysis and combine the concrete cases.
