A Research On Rural Migrant Adolescents’ Sexual Attitudes And The Influencing Factors

Sexuality is significant in every people’s life. To study rural migrant adolescents’ sexual attitudes is important for in-sighting into this group, developing appropriate sexual education program and promoting their socialization. With the research methods of questionnaires, interviews and participant observation, this paper studies rural migrant adolescents’ attitudes toward sexuality and love. The study finds that the rural migrant adolescents lack of scientific sexual knowledge and sexual education. Besides, they have contradictory attitudes toward love. Moreover, their sexual attitudes have the contradictory characteristics of coexistence of conservatism and liberalism, which is subject to many factors. Further study results show that the traditional culture represented by their family and the modern culture represented by mass media, city community and peer group has a push-pull effect on the rural migrant adolescents’ sexual attitudes. By sexual education which mainly purposes on chastity-keeping,their parents hope them form conservative sexual attitudes. However, the modern culture affects the rural migrant adolescents’ sexual attitudes through all aspects of their living and learning, in which network plays a more and more important role.
