Since twenty-first Century,the new curriculum reform has been going onaround the country. With the adjustment of teaching goal, teaching process,teaching methods and teaching concept have to change. The Lead-in part, asthe initial part of classroom teaching, whose importance cannot be ignored inthe reform. It acts as a bridge between the known to the unknown, a linkbetween teachers and students. It arises students’ attention, and stimulatesthinking and motivation. The whole class’ success is directly related to thesuccess of Lead-in. And the Lead-in’s success depends on whether it canmatch the characteristics of students’ physical and mental development, andwhether it can promote students’ learning. Accordingly, this paper advocatesthat we should not only pay attention to the importance of Lead-in, but also tosuit one’s measures to local conditions, and to teach students in accordancewith their aptitude, as it differs from man to man.This paper will first analyze the related issues of Lead-in, including itsconcept, classification and function on the basis of psychology and educationtheory.This paper also analysises some problems that exit in Lead-in part inhistory classes of the author’s own school. And then briefly points outmeasures. Finally this paper comes up with some common lead-in methods ofhistory teaching in senior high school.
