| Since Karate has been brought to China officially in2006and been put into trial program by General Administraion of Sport of China in2007, it gains unprecedented expanding in recent years. By now, more and more sports institutes busy setting up professionl Karate teams, such as institutions and Sport Colleges in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan. While trying their best to perfect their Karate teams, they also gets full support from the governments.This article aims to seek a way to maintain the healthy development of Karate in China. The main methods the author used are documentation method, questionnaire survey, interviewing method and statistics study, so that peopled would have a overall understanding of the current situation of Karate development, such as its positives and negtives. By studying the material, the author hopes to make a way for Karate’s healty development.After the study, the author draws the conclusion:1. Karate has gained more and more attention at all levels.2. The career of Karatte has gained more and more talents and the number of attendence of championships is growing. And also, people who practice in KATA are mainly in those developed cities in China, while while those who practice Kumite are.3. Since most of the local Karate coaches are from relevant sports, they are proved to be smart and of reach related experience which is key to the boost of Karate in China. However, the unbalance of coaches’ locations make things hard.4. The rank of Karate coaches is like a pyramid, which means the higher the coaches are ranked, the smaller their number is. Further, coaches are inrensive in some particular regions worse the situation of Karate.5. Though it is well admitted that universities and colleges are the cornerstones of the spread of Karate, the lack of unified textbook and coaches still remain to be problem.6. For the sake of the public, the burning questions are there is no standard to judge dan grading and a lack of charging standard.Facing the formentioned situation, the author forwards the following points:1.Higher practioners’ professional qualities as a whole, expecially the coaches’ judging ability.2. Higher the coaches ability from all dimension.3. Improve facility of Karate training.4. Enforce the communication to other related sports, learning from those fully-developed programs.5. Taking advantage of the mass media, let more of the public learn about Karate. |
