Well-being is the eternal theme of life, the pursuit and need of all people. With quality education further being advanced, people begin to pay close attention to teachers’and students’well-being. Teachers’ subjective well-being in their work is an inner feeling which their own needs can be meeting, their self-worth can be realized and the sense of meaning can be felt in the education and teaching work.On the basis of existed theoretical and quantitative research results, this thesis will have a concrete, comprehensive and deep discussion of the interviewer’s professional life with life history research method. The writer was interning in F middle school in Hunan province for almost three months and built a corporation relationship with an English teacher named Zhou Ruo for half a year. The writer collected data with observation, interview, listening classes and material collection to understand the teachers’subjective well-being connotation and the reasons of affecting her subjective well-being in her work. This thesis is trying to give an opportunity to more people to understand teachers’ life and pay more attention to teachers’ experience as a human-being and discuss the people-oriented education.There are seven chapters in the thesis. The first chapter is the introduction which discusses the reasons of topic selection, research questions and research significance. The second chapter is the literature review related to teachers’ subjective well-being in which research inspiration and potential space can be found. The third chapter is the design and the process of the research. The fourth chapter is Miss Zhou’s life history which shows her life experience vividly and comprehensively. The fifth part is the analysis about Miss Zhou’s subjective well-being in her work. The critical events such as the experience of having public class and being a teacher in charge of a class will be analyzed. The sixth chapter is some reflection about teachers’ subjective well-being in their work. Based on the three questions:How is teachers’ emotion and feeling? How is teachers’ professional development? How are teachers to be in the society? People can think about how teacher’s family, school and society affect teachers’ subjective well-being. The last chapter is the reflection about the whole thesis.
