| Proper reasoning faculty is an important basis of learning mathematics for primary school pupils. There are four major purposes of this research. They are:(1) to get to know the present developing state of the reasoning faculty of pupils;(2) to find out pupils’ reasoning strategies and the difficulties they have;(3) to discuss the methods for training the reasoning ability of pupils;(4) to present the conclusion that whether the teaching methods of reasoning is helping to develop pupils reasoning ability. According to the teaching content of primary math, this paper divides reasoning problems into numerical reasoning, figue reasoning and verbal reasoning. In order to investigate and analyze the developing state of the pupils’ reasoning ability, a self-designed questionnaire was carried out to130students in Grade four. Finally, exemplified by the case in teaching, some suggestions came up. The conclusion is expected to help teachers and curriculum designers to train the students’ reasoning faculty.The research tells that to solve the numeral reasoning quest ions, students prefer to produce the differences between numbers, to focus on the eatures of the differences, and to consider of the multiplication-table; to deal with much more vaiiables, they usually feel very difficult; to solve figure reasoning questions, they like to convert the figures into series of numbers; to reason out some verbal questions, they use almost the same s(?)ategy.Based on the result, the author gives some nieces of teaching advice:(1) to highlight the reasoning and encourage supposition;(2) to creat effective contexts for reasoning;(3) to train the observing ability and teach reasoning methods (4) to enhance oral expressing and develop thinking;(4) to extend the training ways by coml ining the questions with real life.Finally, the experimental verification draws a conclusion--to strengthen the teaching of mathematic reasoning helps to develop pupils’ reasoning faculty... |
