Scientific reasoning ability is an important part of scientific inquiry, the physical new curriculum reform promote scientific inquiry, cultivating students’ scientific reasoning skills. Whether Scientific reasoning ability is related to the ability to solve physical problems or not? Today’s Department of Physics Teachers undergraduate scientific reasoning skills and the ability to solve physical problems are in what kind of level? These issues are worth exploring.Select Capital Normal University Department of Physics Teachers undergraduates for the study, using a survey of educational research methods and statistical research methods, do the test of scientific reasoning ability and the level of ability to solve physical problems, what’s more, research the correlation between the two capabilities.First, applied LCTSR testing scientific reasoning ability level of Physics Teachers undergraduate, Analysis of test results by EXCEL bipartite graph, the results show that scientific reasoning skills are at the middle level. Further scientific reasoning ability tests for LCTSR scale comparative analysis of six dimensions. The results show that Conservation of mass and volume capacity of these two dimensions proportional is better, The control variables reasoning, probabilistic reasoning, deductive reasoning underlying reasoning and assumptions four dimensions of reasoning ability level is low.Then apply the original physical problem test tool for Physics Teacher undergraduate physics problem solving ability test. Analysis of test results by EXCEL. The results showed that physical Normal undergraduate physics problem solving skills are at a low level.Finally, the results of these two tests take correlation test by SPSS17. The test results show that, scientific reasoning skills and the ability to solve physical problems is very weak, regarded as irrelevant. As LCTSR scientific reasoning ability tests include six dimensions that volume mass conservation, proportional reasoning, control of variables reasoning, probabilistic reasoning, underlying reasoning and assumptions deductive reasoning.This paper studies the various dimensions of s physical problem-solving ability and relevance by software SPSS17. Data show that the various dimensions and physical problem solving can be seen as a very weak correlation irrelevant.This article seeks to understand the true level of the Department of Physics Teachers undergraduate scientific reasoning ability and the ability to solve physical problems, as well as the correlation between the two. And try to help the study of secondary school physics teaching to find some Suggestions.
