Culture in the21st century is comprehensive personnel, to implement a combination of history and geography teaching in secondary schools, the key is the teacher. In view of this, I first questionnaire school geography teacher in the teaching process to contact the historical knowledge of the status quo, the survey found some problems. The above issues, I believe that knowledge of history in the study of geography in middle school textbooks is very necessary.This article is mainly from the perspective of textbook analysis, use of literature, summarized method, questionnaire, statistics and other methods, sorting and statistical knowledge of history in the junior middle school, high school geography textbooks, and historical knowledge analysis. The analysis includes historical knowledge of the distribution, function, characteristics, types, etc.. Knowledge of history in middle school geography textbooks to draw some conclusions:distribution:number of secondary school geography textbook knowledge of history, and distribution in the various sections of the geography text. The two main functions:First. Of teaching:lesson planning for secondary school geography teachers to provide teaching resources; help to improve the comprehensive quality of the geography teachers; contribute to the active classroom atmosphere and teaching objectives. Second. Student learning:to improve students’cognitive structure; helping to train and improve students’literacy and capacity; students of the socialist concept of honor and patriotism; to prepare students for college entrance. Third, the characteristics of:One. Distribution characteristics:knowledge of history is mainly distributed in the three parts of the secondary school geography textbooks, the body of the textbook, textbook reading materials and instructional materials, activities. Thus, in Textbook distribution is broad. Two. Combination of forms:historical and geographical knowledge exists in many forms, such as:map, background and conditions, influence and significance and current events. The fourth, Type:According to the different country can be divided into history, world history; According to the national nature and the different nature of economic development can be divided into:China’s ancient history, China’s nearly modern history, China’s contemporary history. According to the basic conclusions, make a few suggestions:In high school geography teaching materials activities can design history and geography of the combination of the knowledge and make teaching material content is more and more rich and colorful; high school geography teacher is necessary to improve their knowledge of history reserves; Middle school students in the process of study geography course we can contact some historical knowledge and improve their comprehensive ability.
