The history of mankind has always been a history of the conflict. Peerrelationships play the unique and important role in the development and soc-ial adaptation of children; it is one of the important environmental factorswhich can not be ignored? For children peer conflict frequently occur in thelife, peer conflict resolution strategy is an important indicator to detect ind-ividual level of social development, social skills and adaptability. This studyexplore the cognitive mechanism to affect conflict resolution with the self-esteem and the intentions of others.This study selected345high grades students in an primary school ofWuhai as the subject,using The Self-esteem Inventory(Coopersmith,1967),Intentions of others attributed questionnaire and children’s interpersonalconflict strategies Scale.The conclusions are as follow:1. The level of upper primary students’ self-esteem does not exist betwe-en gentle and grade differences.2. The intentions of others attributed to the overall primary students whotend to good will attributed to the significant gender differences, girls easierto make the goodwill attributed to the boys more likely to make hostile attri-bution.3. There are gender differences in conflict resolution strategies of upperprimary students.The girls tend to use problem-solving strategies and intro-version strategy, boys tend to use extraversion strategy.4. There are correlations in self-esteem level, the intentions of others andthe conflict resolution strategy. In conflict situations, high self-esteem tendto well-meaning attributed to the intent of others, take to solve the problemof conflict resolution strategies; Conversely, low self-esteem in the face of conflict situations, easy to other people’s intentions hostile normalized dueto the dumping of more use to deal with conflict.5.Self-esteem level can predict conflict resolution strategies in problemsolving, extraversion and introversion of the dimensions of self-esteem isalso affected by the regulation of intent to be attributed to indirect effects ofthe above three dimensions; on the intentions of others attribution of conflictresolution strategies in problem solving, of the dimensions of extraversionand introversion predict.
