With continual expansion and diversification of military missions of our army inpeacetime, the future positions for undergraduates in military medical colleges havechanged greatly in new period. From medical officers work in central hospital or abovebecome basic medical officers. The military clinicians’ positional requirements have alsochanged in several aspects including knowledges, abilities and qualities accordingly, which result in inadaptability of current medical officers’ education according to thesenew changes. Thus, investigating positional requirements and establishing a trainingobjective system for undergraduates in military clinical medicine, which is adaptable topositional requirement and conducive to all-round development of the individual, are vitalof training medical officers who can be fully competent to their jobs. Our research which focused on the demand of military medical services was based uponthe Theory of Whole-person Education together with Benjamin Bloom’s Three Domainsand Spearman’s Two Factors of Ability. We studied and analyzed current requirements ofmedical officers by questionnaire survey of experts, basic medical officers andundergraduates respectively, and literature consultation including the Global Minimum Essential Requirements for Medical Education, Essential Requirements for ClinicalMedical Education and Military Talent Training Objective Model as reference. On thisbasis, we made the consultative chart for experts and constructed the training objectivesystems for undergraduates in Military Clinical Medicine with two aspects, eight fieldsand sixty-one standards by two rounds of expert consultation and several rounds of expertdiscussion. We deem that nurtur of undergraduates in military clinical medicine should not only adaptto the requirements of positions, but also take lifelong career developments intoconsideration in new period. Therefore, military clinical medicine should include twoaspects which are position holding and lifelong developments. Among them, the positionholding consists of five fields which are Medical officers’ values and attitudes, scientificknowledge and methods, clinical skills and practice, health management and logistics, andmilitary quality and physical ability. Lifelong developments comprise three fields whichare information management and application, interpersonal communication and exchange, and critical thinking and innovation. Position holding is mainly about knowledge and skilltraining which is the basis of position in military medicine serve. However, lifelongdevelopments of every field resulted from converging of ability are mainly about qualityrequirements which are the basis of lifelong development of position holding in militarymedicine. Besides, professional ethics, clinical practice and construction of all-roundqualities are emphasized, and position requirements are underlined considering lifelongcareer developments when nurturing the medical officers.
