Education is oriented of development. Education implementation and success of the reform is that teachers, teachers’ professional development is to provide the quality of teachers, an effective way of teaching effectiveness, and professional development of teachers will also be an important orientation for the future of teacher education. Physical education teachers are an important part of teachers, also need to use the teachers’ professional development theory and combine the professional specialty of physical education teachers to guide their development.In this paper, literature data, questionnaires, interviews, statistics research methods on the part of the Middle School Physical Education teachers’ professional development is now an investigation, the aim is to improve the analysis of the present study and find the problems and the actual situation suggested that the ultimate goal is for the rich physical education teachers professional knowledge, enhance the technical capacity of the physical education teachers to improve the teaching effectiveness of physical education teachers, building high-quality teachers to improve reference.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Most of the P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Henan have reached the basic standards. But we should make greater efforts to train and to improve the level of P.E. teachers in high school. And the most of teachers tend to be younger and male, which is benefit to carry out the work.(2)Generally, P.E. teachers in the middle schools have a clear understanding about the necessity of professional development; their understanding increase with the academic degree, the reason may be the older and less educated teachers’lack of sufficient understanding for professional development.(3)P.E. teachers in Henan have correct attitudes. P.E. teachers have strong professional teaching ability and can be competent for their job, but practice cultural knowledge is not ideal. Most P.E. teachers have positive attitudes towards scientific research. Their main motives are to improve teaching quality and perfect themselves; P.E. teachers mainly apply modern educational technology to teaching purposes.(4) Middle School physical education teachers through classroom observation, training and education, network queries, peers, communication with the teachers in the same profession as well as teaching and research activities and so on.(5) The limit of the schools’ condition, the leadership does not support the personal financial conditions, heavy tasks and other factors in varying degrees, affect the physical education teachers participate in professional development activities.
