Study On The Relationship Between Occupational Stress And Mental Health Among Firefighters In Some Place In Hebei Province

With the development of society, The scope of fire control work became more andmore wide, the task size and difficulty also increased continually, at the same time, thefirefighters have to suffer more occupational stress. Larger professional pressure will notonly affect the quality of work and living，but also affect the mental health of firefightersin some degree. Through this research, we hope to have a better understanding of theinscape of occupational stress and the relationship of occupational stress and mentalhealth，that we can find some constructive countermeasures and suggestions for themanagement of occupational stress and the increasing of mental health level offirefighters.In the first place, it introduced the research background and present research at homeand abroad, and expounded the relevant concepts and theory of occupational stress andmental health. This part laid a theoretical foundation for the following research.In the second place, the research hypotheses were put forward based on literatureresearch and a conceptual model was established. Then the occupational stressquestionnaire of firefighters was designed as the measuring tool of the occupational stressof firefighters, and was summarized as five dimensions after factor analysis. In addition,SCL-90self-rating scale and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire were chosen as themeasuring tools of the research to pave the way for the issuance and collection of theformal questionnaires.Again, using the data collected based on the questionnaire investigation, this paperconducted a test on the questionnaires’ reliability and validity in software SPSS17.0andAMOS17.0. Then it made correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediation effectanalysis among occupational stress dimension, coping style and SCL-90using softwareSPSS17.0, and Structural Equation Modeling analysis was made using softwareAMOS17.0. Thus the research hypotheses are verified and the results of this research weregot.Finally, according to the results of empirical analysis and related theory，it proposedsolutions to manage occupational stress of firefighters and improve their mental health level from the seven aspects. It hoped to play an important role in manage occupationalstress of firefighters and improve their mental health level.
