In the field of Medieval Monglian Language Studies which focuses on The Secret History of the Mongols and other books, there have been many excellent works. This is the contribution that scholars have made to the research of Mongolian language. Compared with the modern Mongolian grammatical structure, the main body of it in The Secret History of the Mongols has been well preserved, but it has undergone a few changes in some aspects. The differences not only manifest the features of grammatical structure in The Secret History of the Mongols, but also give us a glimpse of the characteristics of it in medieval Mongolian. In the field of Medieval Monglian Language Studies, it is very important to summarize the variation and its causes plus features, according to the trace of historical changes in Mongolian language. Therefore, aiming at the possession category of medieval Mongolian nouns, the dissertation is a result of the research about the variation of it during different periods.The thesis consists of five parts:Introduction, Chapter One, Chapter Two, Conclusion and References.The Introduction expounds purposes and meanings of the topic, research methods and the general situation of the study. The Chapter One firstly briefly states the grammatical features of the possession category of medieval Mongolian language. Then it illustrates the possession category of medieval Mongolian language with records in Chinese characters, Uighur Mongolian, Ba Si Ba Monglian and so on, and also systematically describes the application of the possession category after the case of nouns. The Chapter Two elaborates the variation of the possession category of medieval Mongolian language, i.e. the utilization of it mainly in literature and works, such as The Secret History of the Mongols, Golden History by Luobusangdanjin, Khokh Sudar by Yinzhannaxi, etc. Besides, the Chapter Two analyzes the development and variation of reflexive possessive declension as well as the formation and development of person possessive declension. The Conclusion summarizes the variation of the possession category of medieval Mongolian language during different stages.
