This paper tries to make a comparative research on efficiency and equality betweenthe perspective of Chinese traditional Dao-centered culture, especially the Inner Danand that of the theories of the classical Marxist writers and the western economists. The paper points out that the efficiency and equality in the econ-social constructioncould be respectively interpreted by the Jing and Qi in the practice of the Inner Dan.The author also analyses and proves that the interpretation model from the formerperspective here is much more compatible and competitive than from the latter one.According to the relevant references, the current Chinese explanations about thisissue are merely the logical extension of the relative western theories, only combinedwith the practices and situations of the Opening Policy. The basis of these ideas isthe western economic science and its terms. Briefly, the Chinese issue here is notpositively and consciously settled and solved by Chinese culture and tradition. The full text is divided into three chapters and nine sections. They are all served asthe solutions to the problem of the issue on efficiency and equality and itsbackground, key-points and destination as well. The whole text is based on theChinese traditional Dao-centered culture, namely, Yi-dao, Daoism, and Dan-dao.Chapter One and Two are based on the Yi-dao interpretation and mainly deal withthe three currently popular ideas from the western economical and ethical views. Thetwo chapters’ intention is to explain the relation between efficiency and equality inthe Chinese culture category.Chapter Three tries to compare the theories and practices of the Inner Dan and otherChinese traditions under the premise of the key issue in this paper. Through thecomparison, the author is making efforts to construct the Chinese culture-based basisfor the transformation of the western culture. And by such creative interpretationsand comparisons with the thoughts from home and abroad, we are to rebuild theconfidence to our culture and rediscover the abundance of our tradition.
