The realism of the ink figure painting can be based on two words:"writing" and "practice". Generally speaking, those are the graphology of pen and ink and the accuracy of mould-making. But in this paper,"writing" and "practice" are emphasized, and on the basis this paper mainly probes into the traditional inheritance and innovation of the writing and the authenticity and traceability of the significance of modern life. This paper mainly includes three parts. The first part gives an interpretation to the development of the ink figure painting. The second part mainly cards some related factors which can reflect the "write" and "reality" in the ink figure painting, such as the innovation of pen and ink, the life-oriented selection of subject, the realization of representation of mould-making, the actualization of representation of texture and so on to show that the significance of the existence of the realization and reality in the ink figure painting. Mainly combined with own feeling and starting from own images, the last part tries to make further analysis of some own awareness to "the contrast of grasp between writing and practice".The argument of this paper is based on the study and inheritance of mould-making and pen and ink to focus and describe the actualization such as the present life, the personalities of the characters, scene of picture, sold modeling and so on. Any kind of innovation will be accompanied with some trend, with the development of modern, and it is easy for the ink figure painting to have two obvious extremes. One is to worship and walk carefully in the tradition, another is the drastic device and alternativeness. Of course, there are some people do the experiment and innovation on the basis of the tradition, and this idea of those people is accentuated in this paper. Emphasizing on the tradition, using the art form of pure ink to express, and on the basis using a kind rational and perceptual confluence sight express the understanding of the ink figure painting.Practical ink figure painting is established in the practice. Whether in the face of real objects, or imaginary object, painters are always in describing a real substance rather than the abstract symbols. So the ink figure painting of this paper discussed is not the same with the realism of ink figure which is under the system of Xu Jiang in the early20th century. It includes the representative modern and contemporary ink figure painting which is emphasized in this paper and has some concrete examples under the blend of Chinese and western artistic innovation. At the same time of exploring the influence of its traditional meaning, the realism of modern ink figure painting and its embodiment of the innovative factors are interpreted by some factors such as mould-making, subject, pen and ink and so on. In hopes of explaining that not only abstract symbolic or visual hyperbole can highlight the uniqueness and can be called halfback. And a kind of ink figure painting can also be found in tangible reality, which is blending with traditional writing and is realistic, practical and modernistic.
