On Wandering Consciousness In The Novels

In the history of Chinese contemporary literature， Bai Xianyong is a writerwith a strong sense of wandering. He put the unique feeling and thinking ofwandering into words，speaking continuously，building a literature world of hisown. This paper will use the wandering consciousness of Bai Xianyong’s novelsas the starting point，through explanation and interpretation of the novels，analyzing the complex and profound consciousness of the novels deeply.This paper is divided into three parts,including introduction,body andconclusion. Firstly，the introduction will introduces the general creation andpresent research situation of Bai Xianyong’s works，then it will summarize therelationship of drift motif and Taiwan literature，finally,the definition andinterpretation of the two concepts of wandering and wandering consciousness. Thebody will discuss mainly as the following three aspects：First chapter，the text representation of wandering consciousness. Thischapter is based on the text，meaning through the analysis of image works driftingto present Bai Xianyong’s wandering consciousness. This chapter will summarizeBai Xianyong’s wandering figures in three types：firstly,“Taipei people” onthe isolated island; secondly,“New York guest” trapped into the culture cracks;thirdly，“The Outsiders”(gay) exiled by the mainstream ethics.Second chapter,the aesthetics of wandering consciousness. Bai Xianyongthrough a unique artistic expression to depict the wandering consciousness， formedits own distinctive artistic personality. This chapter will express Bai Xianyong’swandering consciousness in three aspects: the portrait of wandering imago，“dramatic” narrative tendency and the application of consciousness streamtechnique.Third chapter， analysis on reasons of speech drifting. This chapter mainlyfrom Bai Xianyong’s life experience， three aspects of literary heritage andwriting concept， he kept writing to explore the motivation and reason. The last part will make comments on the wandering consciousness of Bai Xianyong.In Bai Xianyong’s view，people’s sense of loneliness and wandering is universal，it won’t eliminate completely. In the face of this innate sense of lonelinessand wandering in human’s spirit， Bai Xianyong created a literature world fullof compassion with his words, thus enable people to face the lonely， live bravely.
