This thesis focuses on the figures of obedient sons in Jian Xia Tomb, Bai Shacounty, Qing Shui town, Gan Su province, which is the only case of "26filial-pietystories" discovered yet based on the review of images of obedient sons in carved andpainted tombs during the Song dynasty and the Jin dynasty in Gan Su, Shan Xi, andNing Xia province. According to the analysis of the images of obedient sons in JianXia Tomb on the ground of the whole sphere and the selective of other subjects, itexplores the theme and terms of paragraph selection between this26filial-pietyimages in this tomb; it is also being considered that how the unique characteristics ofcarved brick aspects the presentation of images. Comparing with the styles of variouscarved tomb in neighborhood areas, it leads to the production in mould mode in tombsduring the Song dynasty and the Jin dynasty in Gan Su, Shan Xi, and Ning Xiaprovince. Last but not least, comparing the images of obedient sons in Jian Xia Tombto the same subject images in the same area and the ones in the Central Plains, itanalysis the alternative of subjects and styles selective among areas, which lead to theterritorial study of the images of obedient sons in Gan Su, Shan Xi, and Ning Xiaprovince, that appears before the "24filial-piety stories" officially settled. It concludesthat the figure with a cowl-like hat on the lotus throne might be the "Si Zhou DevoutMonk". The salvation sense of Seng Jia worship could highly deal with the cause ofthe figures of "26filial-piety stories" in Jian Xia Tomb.
