The Primary Research Of Carved Stone Series In Shanxi Province

Carved Stone Series in Shanxi Province accepted the most inscriptions in Shanxi Province a hundred years ago. It was a work that had the finest research and the most detailed description in those years. This work had the novelest value of historical materials and academic interest. Hu Pinzhi, who was a chief in Shanxi Province, collected seven hundred and twenty inscriptions from Northern Wei to Yuan in Shanxi Province by his authority. It had great contributions. This work displayed his good scholastic attainments and strong feeding of Shanxi Province. I wrote this thesis from different contents of carved stone that had five aspects: the sepulchral monument, the cenotaph, the summary record monument, the economy monument and the natural disaster monument. I gave emphasis to analyses one-group inscriptions in one aspect in this thesis. Although this thesis was a primary exploration, it could prove this work was an important local documents resource. This work was the truthful record of politics, economy, culture, art, conditions, customs and each domain of social life. It could inter-verification with local documents and it could atone the deficiency of book documents and it could appear as the object proof to amend local documents.
