Chinese painting is different from Western painting. It contains poetry, calligraphy and stamp. These elements constitute the Chinese paintings’ remarkable feature. It could also add painters’ idea and emotions and hobby.To begin with, this thesis is research on poetry integrating with Chinese painting’s origin and development. The process of integration is experienced quite long time. It starts at Sui and Tang dynasties. Prosperous in the Five Dynasty. In the period of Ming and Qing Dynasties got to the peak period. Nowadays, artists have inherited this good tradition. The format are become diversity. But the poems on paintings’ phenomenon are not much.Then, I discussed the poetry play an important role on painting from a few aspects:First, it could express the issues that hard to draw on painting. It could help painter express his or her idea.Second, it could enhance the artistic conception.Third, it could enhance the painters’literature cultivation and comprehensive quality. So that to create high quality artworks.Fourth, it could perfect the composition of a picture.Fifth, it could help to research the art history and to play a part for testify the old paintings.Last but not least, I study the poems on paintings are fading’s reason. I strongly suggest that add educational curriculum in this area. Hoping that every painter who aspire to research on the creation of Chinese painting, improving their own cultural literacy so that can create excellent works.
