Research Fireworks Festival Gongcheng Yao Stone Hau

The subject of this thesis is the Fireworks Festival of Shikou Village, Sanjiang township, Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi. The thesis starts with the introduction of the origin of the place where the fireworks-grabbing custom of the Shenjia emerges, then it makes a systematic investigation of the historical culture, the background of Shikou Village and ends with the study and tentative conclusion of the origin of the fireworks-grabbing custom of the Shen people, combining the legendary tales and historical memories. The conclusion is:the custom has a strong characteristic of regionality but not nationality. It originates in Guangdong. The tradesmen brought this custom along the riverside of Zhu River and spread it to Nanling Mountains regions in Ming and Qing Dynasty. The custom is passed from Zhongshan and Fuchuan to Shenjiadong. Mingled with Yao nationality in Shenjia, the current fireworks custom gradually comes into form. The legendary tales show the pragmatic tendency of Yao people who combine the firework customs with their own need. They also reflect Yao people’s recognition of their national identity, of the Qianjiadong ancestors and their efforts in maintaining their own cultural national independence.The second chapter presents the author’s own experience in the fireworks festival. In the description of the ritual, the author tries to illiterate the preparation, ritual, guests-meeting, firework-showing and fireworks-grabbing, altogether presenting the Shikou Village Fireworks Festival. The thesis emphasizes on the worship and believe of local people to the fireworks during the whole festival and shows local people’s wishes of child, luck, prosperity and peace.The third chapter begins with the belive of fireworks in Shikou Village. By investigate its content, characteristic, function and transformation, it presents the reason why after centuries the fireworks custom sill exist after being brought into Shikou Village. And from the perspective of system change, development of economy and society, the impact of out culture, and the need of local people, to illustrate the fact that the festival has changed it’s nature from the worshiping of gods to the entertainment of people.Chapter four makes a further reflection on the value recognition, source transformation and traveling plan. First of all, the economic and social value of folk tourism is recognized. The analysis is about the culture of tourism value of folk culture of local fireworks, Qianjiadong, the Yao national food and Meishan mountain. Secondly, it discusses the patterns of cultural source transformation of fireworks festival. In the end, by analyzing the advantages and problems in tourism development of fireworks festival, the thesis brings out a general plan on the strategic targeting, thoughts of the development and tourism planing.
