On Fei Ming 'aesthetic Tastes

Fei Ming is quite a novelist of uniqueness in the modern literary history whose novel works also present a unique charm which arouse my interest in studying them. After reading his works and referring to abundant documentation, I find that aesthetic tastes can be a study point-cut. Unique aesthetic tastes are key factors in forming the uniqueness of Fei Ming and his works as well as a powerful new angle for evaluating his value in the literary history. Therefore, this thesis endeavors to base on the angle of aesthetic tastes to explore the formation and whole characteristics of his aesthetic tastes at the first place, then coming out with three main characteristics:emphasis in expressing emotions, preference to pondering philosophy and affection of elegant things. It is then followed by integrating intensely with Fei Ming’s novel writing so as to discuss how his novels present this kind of aesthetic taste and form this unique charm eventually, this part is stated mainly from three perspectives---subject selections, thought connotation and artistic expressions. In the last place, this thesis continues to objectively evaluate Fei Ming’s values and significance in the history of literature from the angle of his unique aesthetic tastes, then coming out with four main significant meanings:boost the diverse development of novel writing, provide the new aesthetic experience, enlighten a new perspective of thinking of the world and regarding a life, proceed a artistic pursuit profoundly in the long run. Even though the thesis, really from the aesthetic perspective, has caught Fei Ming’s inner value pursuit of aesthetics, analyzed his outside aesthetic tastes and explicated his aesthetic tastes by integrating his novel writings in a detailed and systematic way, it is still deficient for a study to finally explore his value in the history of literature. Thus, it is novel and necessary to have this study.
