Peng Town Phonetic Study

The present thesis is a survey of Pengbu dialect. Pengbu belongs to JiangganDistrict, is located in the northeast of Hangzhou. Pengbu dialect belongs to Hangzhoupart of Wu dialect, but has differences from the center of Hangzhou dialect, andexists differences among the civilians in this town. This thesis tries to give a detaileddescribing of the phonetics of the Pengbu dialect, and find out the differencesbetween Tangwai dialect and Tangli dialect. This thesis has seven chapters, whichoutline is following:Chapter One introduces the geograohy, the historical conditions, the researchreasons, and the studies of Hangzhou dialect briefly.Chapter Two describes the phonological system of Tangwai dialect in detail.Chapter Three describes the corresponding relationship between thephonological system of the Tangwai dialect and the middle ancient times.Chapter Four describes the phonological system of Tangli dialect in detail.Chapter Five describes the corresponding relationship between thephonological system of the Tangli dialect and the middle ancient times.Chapter Six gives a detail comparison between Tangwai dialect and Tanglidialect.Chapter seven gives a conclusion.Using the methods of delineation and contrast, this thesis researched onphonology and vocabulary systermly in Pengbu dialect. Hoping through theseresearches, we can provide a rich and detailed voice materials for further study onHangzhou dialect.
