Objective To study the TCM syndromes of thyroid associated ophthalmapathy (TAO), and evaluate the Clinical curative effect of TAO. To summarize treatment methods of syndrome-dieffrention on thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy by Ximing Liu.Methods The study runs on four steps in all.The first step Based on literature search and experts consulting,"Investigation Table of TCM Syndromes of thyroid associated ophthalmapathy "was made. Cases of TAO was collected and researched.The second step Date was collected and compared with based on different prieods of0,3,6,9,12,0as preliminary examination."Investigation Table of TCM Syndromes of thyroid associated ophthalmapathy" includes seven parts:①Screening table;②General information;③Etiology suivey;④TCM symptoms and physical signs;⑤Chemical examination;⑥Relevant diagnosis at present;⑦Drugs&herbs.The third step Statistical analysis. SPSS18.0was used. Algorithms include frequency analysis, mean±standard deviation (x±S),χ2-test, nonparametric test.ResultsClinical symptom The total effective rate of TCM dialectical treatment on thyroid associated ophthalmapathy was80%,90%and95%in3,6and9respectively. After treatments, the eye symptoms, such as palpebral fissure, easy to tears, eyelid edema and photophobia, got better obviously. Symptom scores reduced significantly and the scores decrease amplitude got up over time.Syndrome rule and treatment In classified symptoms, liver fire was main during6months and the prescription is mainly Longdan Xiegan Decoction and Zhizi Qinggan Decoction. Spleen depressed and shi blazing was main during the next6months and the prescription is mainly Shenling Baizhu Powder. Yin deficiency on heart and liver, Yin deficiency on liver and kidney along with phlem Shi were main after one year, the prescription is mainly Shengmai Decoction and Zuogui Pill.Chinese herbs Use frequence of herbs above20%in treatments is as follow: chrysanthemum(86.7%), plantago seed (61.8%), white peony(44.1%), ligustrum japonium(44.1%), prunella (38.7%), alismatis (38.2%), mulberry Leaf (36.8%), rehmanniae praeparatum(35.3%), parsnip(33.8%), medlar (33.8%), gentiana Scabra(29.4%), chiretta (27.9%), gardenia (26.5%), dendrobium(25.0%), scutellaria(22.1%), lily (22.1%), tribulus terrestris (20.6%)Conclusion①Liver fire is main syndrome factors in the early, and spleen depressed and shi blazing in the medium term, Yin deficiency on heart and liver, Yin deficiency on liver and kidney along with phlem Shi in the later.②The main prescription that Ximing Liu use are Longdan Xiegan Decoction and Zhizi Qinggan Decoction in the early, Shenling Baizhu Powder in the medium term, Shengmai Decoction and Qi ju di huang wan Pill in the later.③Corresponding to liver fire, shi blazing, phlegm stasis, yin deficiency, the main function of the prescription are clearing liver-fire, diuresis and diffusing dampness, resolving phlegm; nourishing liver and kidney.④Liver fire, shi blazing and phlegm stasis are closely related to the thyroid associated ophthalmapathy.
